Manas Mishra is a
writer, director and a visual artist. Having a Masters in Mass
Communication & Journalism and Master Diploma in Cinema, he worked as an
Assistant Director for Pennywise Films for their independent feature film
“Shuttlecock Boys” which was an official selection at various Film Festivals
across US and India (including Chicago South Asian Film Festival and India
International Film Festival-Tampa Bay) and released in India in 2012.
He has also
directed a Documentary film “A SERENE PARADISE” for Periyar Foundation (Govt.of
Kerala). Prior to this he worked as an Animator for What Comics Entertainment,
USA for their 3D animated feature film “CEREBUS THE AARDVARK” based on a
Graphic novel by Dave Sim. He has also worked as a 3D Character Modeler for
Illusion Maya Studios, Malaysia for their short film “QUILLINGLAND”. His short
film “OFFTIMISTIC” won the first prize in Student Filmmakers of India Film
Competition held in 2011 and was showcased at CFD Suchitra Short Film Festival,
Bengaluru.
His short
film “RUN OF FREEDOM” won the SILVER FILM OF THE YEAR at INDIA FILM PROJECT,
Asia’s largest content creation festival in 2018. He also won the first prize
for the same film at 12th Cell Phone Cinema Festival. His
another short film “ABHI BABUA ZINDA HAI” won the Best Women Film in 16IFF
(Jaipur International Film Festival) in 2018. His first feature film “PASSWORD”
is currently in the post-production stage.
In
academics, he has worked as an Assistant Professor at India Today Media
Institute (India Today Group) and at Amity School of Communication (Amity
University) where he has taught Film Studies, Visual Communication, Film
Editing, Animation and Screenwriting.
Sheshank Kishore
Mishra is an expert in Direction and
Video Editing. He is a Post Graduate Diploma in Mass Communication from
Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan (New Delhi).
During his
studies, he joined a startup video production company where he established
online media house “MakeitLive Media” where his job was strategic planning of
business like content and website structure.
He is engaged in video production in which he leaded a production unit. He also
contributed with his skills in serving corporate and some reputed organizations
in India such as UNDP (United Nations Development Programme), Hindustan Power,
Nestle, Dettol, AAFT, Political Parties etc.
Apart from
currently working on a documentary based on people who are suffering from
Leprosy and social impact on their life, he also edited the short film “RUN OF
FREEDOM”, which won the SILVER FILM OF THE YEAR in INDIA FILM
PROJECT, Asia’s largest content creation festival in 2018 and also won the
Best Mobile film (International Cell Phone Cinema). He also edited Award
winning Short Film “Abhi Babua Zinda Hai” which won the Best Women Film at
JIFF.
His excellent documentary Kalakar (which he edited
and directed) is a tribute to those very artists who go about their entire life
without the slightest amount of recognition. His another Documentary film
‘People of Ganga’ won the prestigious Golden Bodhisattva Award BIFF 2016
and the Best Director Award in GIIFFA 2017. His films were also nominated and
screened at BRICS International Film Festival and Bhartiya Chitra Sadhana Film
Festival.
